A  New Approach to Particle  Measurements!

XiGo Nanotools developed the Acorn Area to measure the particle surface area of concentrated nanoparticle dispersions using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR).  This compact, unique device measures concentrated nanoparticles in just a few minutes, without any sample preparation, eliminating the time consuming sample preparation associated with traditional surface area analysis.  Direct measurement of concentrated particles dispersed in a liquid provides a sensitive tool to study nanoparticles in research and development, and to control quality in manufacturing.  Many nanoparticle dispersions form delicate structures that are perturbed or destroyed during the sample preparation required for traditional surface area analysis.  The Acorn Area provides a tool to measure these materials without altering their structure.

Particle surface area is an important parameter that correlates to product performance in a wide range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, electronics, energy, ceramics, and coatings.  The Acorn Area provides scientists with a tool that is easy to use, no specialized scientific or technical expertise is necessary.
